Mashia
Introduction
The Malaysia Small Hydro Industry Association (MASHIA) was set-upped recently to address the issues and impediments faced by the industry stakeholders. MASHIA is fully endorsed by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) of Malaysia. Furthermore, it is registered with the Registrar of Society (ROS) of Government of Malaysia (GOM) which afforded it to be a non-profit organisation.
Objectives
The objective of MASHIA is to promote the development of small hydro power (SHP) schemes in Malaysia in sustainable manner. This is done through engagement with various stakeholders of the industry; developers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, operators, off-takers, academia, government agencies, the public, among others.
